OVERVIEW: The WHPDA Porter is responsible for providing basic janitorial and cleaning services to properties assigned to the Wild Horse Pass Development Authority.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide necessary general maintenance & janitorial duties to the Shelde community building, WHPDA maintenance facility, Fire Department Building.

  • Rest Rooms: Clean counter tops, mop floors and wipe-tiled areas, clean mirrors, inside & outside of toilets, urinals and paper receptacles, clean drinking fountains, wipe toilet stall doors and shower area (where applicable). Restock toilet paper, hand towels, soap dispensers, sanitary napkin receptacles, paper seat covers and deodorizers.
  • Kitchen/Lunchroom areas: Vacuum, mop floors, wash and put away dirty dishes, clean sinks, counter tops, and stove top, wipe cupboards (as needed), empty trash, and wipe trash receptacle, clean microwave inside and outside, wipe outside of refrigerator and clean inside of refrigerator every two weeks. Throw away any left over foods. Clean window glass in exterior door. Restock hand towels, soap and trash can liners.
  • Office Areas: Vacuum, empty trash, dust & pledge tops of file cabinets, credenzas, telephones and pictures. Wipe or wet spray silk plants, clean window glass in any exterior door that applies.
    Do not dust/clean computers or tops of desks.
    Restock trash liners.
  • Conference/Meeting Rooms: – Vacuum, mop, dust tabletops and furniture. Wipe windowsills, clean window glass at ground level, thermostat control boxes, dust ground level window blinds as needed. Empty and wipe trash receptacles; restock trash liners.
  • Common Areas – Office: Vacuum, dust pictures, thermostat control box, filing cabinets, wet wipe when needed. Clean around coffee bar, empty trash receptacles including receptacle at coffee bar, clean water tray in water dispenser, refill tank if needed. Empty paper shredder. Clean window glass in entry doors.
  • Computer/Printer room – Vacuum, empty trash, clean microwave inside and outside, wipe cupboards (as needed) clean counter top, dust or wet wipe file cabinet as needed. Clean window glass in entry door.
    Restock trash liners, and coffee bar.

2. Communicate supplies needs to supervisor in order to maintain adequate supply inventory.

3. Document and report any building or safety issues as needed

4. Perform other duties, although not outlined here, as requested by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be outside for an entire shift/extended period of time. During their shift, and employee will be required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel; execute repetitive motions of the wrists, hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit; and climb, balance, bend, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed both outside and inside; outside work is performed in most kinds of weather with exposure to extreme heat, fumes and direct sunlight. Work is performed primarily in a gas station, construction and maintenance setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Evening, night, weekend, and holiday work may be required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in cleaning/janitorial industry or maintenance/construction
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Over the age of 21 (for insurance purposes)
  • Arizona Driver’s license mandatory; no restrictions
  • Ability to obtain Tribal Drivers’ Permit is mandatory
  • A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs is a requirement of employment. Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free work place as a condition of employment.
